Is life really fair with us ?

My second thought

The people in our lives can be divided into four groups:

1. People we love and who love us back.

2. People we love but who don't love us back – and this is a huge problem for both sides.

3. People we don't love but who love us – and this is also a problem for them and for us.

4. People we don't love and who don't love us.

We often hear the phrase, "Life is not fair." But is that really the truth?

We often see people getting a lot of things – from your perspective and what appears to you – while others get less, even though they put in much more effort!!!

I see this as clearly unfair – but first, let's be convinced that Allah is the One who created us and that there is wisdom behind everything that happens. Like the story of Prophet Khidr and Prophet Musa (peace be upon them) in Surah Al-Kahf, which is a Sunnah to read and reflect upon every Friday.

What is the secret behind Surah Al-Kahf that makes it a Sunnah to read every week? If you reflect on the story of Prophet Khidr, you will find things that the mind can hardly believe: a ship belonging to poor people that he damaged without any clear or fair reason, the killing of a child walking in the street without any prior knowledge or reason, and people who treat you harshly, expel you when you need a place to stay, food, and drink, and then you come to build a wall for them that was about to collapse… And all this happens to whom? To Prophet Musa (peace be upon him), who did not understand or comprehend what was happening before him from a servant of Allah, Prophet Khidr.

Allah is directing us that no one knows where the good lies – even if they are a prophet or messenger. What appears to be evil may contain all the good that you wish for, and what you see as good for you may contain all the evil.

I saw a video a while ago that said, "Not everyone’s fortunes in this world need to be 24 karats." Some people get everything, and others have less fortune in this world – but the question here is, what happens after?

There are people who will come on the Day of Judgment without money, status, power, or success in the worldly sense – but as I read before, their reckoning will be very quick and easy, and Paradise will be their abode (by the mercy of Allah). At the same time, someone else who had all of that and more will be held accountable for every moment, every penny, and every decision they made, and they will wish a thousand times that they had nothing, and Allah knows what fate awaits them (Paradise or Hell) – also by the mercy of our Lord, may He be glorified and exalted.

This might be a slightly deep faith-based perspective – but our life in this world, whether long or short, is just a few days, and the Hereafter is where everything lies, and it is the most important. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t live our lives or be happy. We should strive, grow, build the earth, and do everything we desire, but in a way that pleases Allah and serves the ultimate goal for all of us on earth, which is to attain Paradise. If a difficult moment passes us by – a test – let us remember that this is not the real loss, and that every day is a test from Allah, whether He has bestowed us with many blessings, for which we should be grateful and use them in ways that please Him, or a test – something we lost or that hurt us – and we should be patient, accept it, and hope for its reward from Allah.

How easy it is to speak, and how hard it is to act. In summary: every day is a test, and no one lives in this world without tests of some kind. Everything will pass. Be grateful for the good and blessings that come to you, and be grateful to Allah, praise Him, and accept His decree when He tests you with something. Most importantly, strive and do what you can to give your life purpose and impact, even if it’s on just one person in this world (that might be more than enough). Today you see yourself as a loser, tomorrow you might be a winner, and so on. The smart one is the one who passes the tests, and the final result of the test is the pleasure of Allah and His Paradise…

And peace be upon you 😇.
